Lasting Power of Attorney A Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document. It allows you to appoint someone that you trust as an ‘attorney’ to make decisions on your behalf.
If you cannot manage your affairs, and you don't have a Lasting power of attorney, the council can appoint a deputy (probably someone you don’t know) and at your cost, to control your affairs and assets.
